Allergy Treatment
It is important to emphasize that every itch is not skin allergy and sneezing does not necessarily imply on hay fever. Besides that is also very important to obtain professional diagnosis because symptoms of some types of allergies are very similar, while treatment is completely different. The last and not the least important is determination of allergens either by skin or blood testing.
At the moment there is no cure for any type of allergy, while treatment usually eliminates or relieves only its symptoms. In many cases people suffer from allergies all their lives and for that reason avoiding allergens has often the most important role in allergy treatment. Thus is highly important to do the allergy testing. However, since it is often impossible to avoid the allergens and symptoms usually do nor resolve on their own allergic reactions must be treated. The conventional medicine cures the symptoms of allergies with several different medications which are either taken orally or applied topically on the affected area in skin allergies. Most often are prescribed medications which block the release of histamine such as antihistamines, while successful is also treatment with corticosteroids. In severe allergic reactions such as anaphylactic reactions is usually used adrenalin which is injected in the vein or muscle. Besides medications is also available hyposensitization in which a patient is vaccinated with small doses of allergens which gradually increase until the patient's allergic reactions do not cease.
Besides conventional treatment which generally brings the risk of unwanted side effects there is also a variety of more or less effective alternative treatments including home remedies which can be used to relieve allergy symptoms without any or minimal side effects. Either way, regardless which type or form of treatment is chosen later has no effect if a patient does not avoid allergens (when it is possible). If one can avoid the allergens there is no need for any treatment because without exposure to allergy-causing substances there is no allergic reaction. However, in real life it is practically impossible not come in contact with one or several allergens at least once in a while.
